FAQs

What genre is OTC?

OTC 1 and 3 can be categorized as YA (young adult) fiction. While set in the “real world”, there are light speculative elements in OTC 1 (such as the phenomenon by which all Ananses are born on Wednesday) and heavier speculative elements in OTC 3.

OTC 2 is Anansesɛm in all its speculative glory, full of talking animals and allegorical folkloric events.

Who is the target audience (age range)?

The content of the written projects are very young adult-friendly and can easily be enjoyed by adults as well. OTC 2: Green Green Grasses, is suitable for children and adults of all ages.

How long are these stories?

The 8 individual stories in OTC 1: The Complete Collection range between 5,000 to 7,500 words each. The entire collection comes up to about 50,000 words.

The 8 podcast episodes of OTC 2: Green Green Grasses are between 6 and 8 minutes long.

The 3 novelettes in OTC 3: The Okonore Trilogy are each about 19,000 words long.

Why is the Green Green Grasses podcast only 8 episodes?!

Because there were only 8 of Kuukua’s stories to translate, and a spider has only 8 legs.

Are you going to do another podcast?

Sadly, no. Not only has the pre-planned podcast series been executed in its entirety, but Akotowaa no longer has the resources that allowed her to create Green Green Grasses for free. But if you’re interested in sponsoring a project you want her to write for, hit her up!

Support the Creator

OTC is free to consume. However, creating and distributing art costs time and money, particularly for a project such as this, which involves extensive collaboration. Your support enables Akotowaa to keep creating, and to compensate her collaborators.
